Product Information

Utagawa Hiroshige was one of the most prominent ukiyo-e artists. He is best known for his series of prints The 53 Stations of the Tokaido (1832–1833). His influence was not limited to Japan. Hiroshige's work influenced Europe's Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, including Van Gogh, who copied two of his prints in oil paint.

This reproduction of Hiroshige's Gionsha Setchu is from the series "Famous Places in Kyoto/Kyoto Meisho No Uchi" displaying ladies with parasols walking in front of the Gion Shrine during Winter. The print is silk-screened onto high quality Japanese Washi. The print measures approximately 18.25" x 11.75" including a small border around the outside of the print.
